Az Nashir—We Will Sing Again: Women’s Prayers for Our Time of Need, compiled and edited by Shira Lankin Sheps, Rachel Sharansky Danziger, and Anne Gordon (Shvilli Center).

This is the final installment in TraditionOnline’s “War Writing” series; visit us tomorrow for a podcast discussion with our three authors.

Az Nashir—We Will Sing Again is an anthology of prayers written by 55 Jewish women in Israel responding to the experiences and struggles of living in Israel in a post-October 7th world. These prayers have given voice to the myriad of complex emotions, ideas, needs, and hopes that have arisen in our time.

In the excerpt presented below, Rachel Sharansky Danziger, whose writing is well-known to TRADITION’s readers, offers two powerful prayers—for brotherhood and for focus.

Rachel Sharansky Danziger, a Jerusalem-born writer and educator, teaches at Matan, Ma’ayan, Pardes, and Torah-in-Motion, and is currently a Sefaria Word-by-Word Fellow.
